How do I get started?
It's easy! All you have to do is complete the user application agreement and send in a one-time
sign-up fee if necessary. We'll process your application and send you out order forms and give you access to a reference manual describing all of our searches. We can also train you over the phone or in person so
you can use these new resources. To get started, just call us, toll-free, at (800) 466-9517 or e-mail us with an address or fax number to have the application sent to you. Or you can write to us at:
InformationForBusiness PO Box 370303 Las Vegas, NV 89137-0303
How does InformationForBusiness work?
Once you have reviewed your reference manual and user-friendly order form, you can request any
available search. The manual describes what information in available in each database and how each search works as well as its cost, availability, average turnaround time and the minimum amount of information we
need in order to perform that search. To request a specific search, just fill in the order form and send it in via fax or use the on-line request form at IFB InstantAccess. Our search professionals will conduct the
search for you and return the results of your request. Searches are often completed within hours and can be returned to you by phone, fax, or e-mail.
Can I request information as an individual for personal use?
The majority of information provided by InformationForBusiness comes from public records sources
which we can provide you either via fax, mail or email. But because of privacy and security concerns, we cannot provide personally identifying information on individuals, their credit, their financial status
or assets or their addresses and telephone numbers. Because it is not always possible to determine the identity of people surfing the internet, we cannot ensure that information provided about individuals
will be used lawfully and morally. But you can still request information on lawsuits, criminal histories, property ownership, bankruptcies and other public records.
How much does it cost?
InformationForBusiness' fee structure is very simple. There are no sign up fees, no software
charges and no monthly minimums. You pay only a small monthly service fee and the subscriber cost of each search you request. Individual searches are billed monthly; you are charged only for the searches
you request. There are no hidden charges and if any search requires additional charges, you are always contacted prior to beginning the search. Check out our price list for more details.
The monthly service fee is there to cover costs of maintaining accounts and providing customer
service assistance.
Instead of increasing the price of reports across the boards we limit that cost to only $20. The vast majority of our subscribers save that amount every month in reduced search charges and this makes it more advantageous for frequent ordering. Even if you only ordered one report a month, you would probably be saving the cost of the service fee and then some. To see subscriber and non-subscriber prices, click on the IFB Services button on the left side of the screen.
Since our charges are search-based, there is no hourly fee to consult with our search
professionals. Investigators charge $40 to $75 an hour to search these databases, and their charges add up quickly. We know you need the least expensive search possible, and we'll find the best option for you that
is within your budget.
How do I know what information is available in my area?
While we do have information databases in all fifty states, not all information is legally
available in every state or county. We can tell you via phone or e-mail which searches are available in your area and how much they cost. If you are a subscriber, see the complete reference manual in IFB
InstantAccess for this information. If you are a subscriber and need a username and password for InstantAccess, please call our customer service department.
How cost-effective is this service if I only need information occasionally?
Even if you only use the service once a month, you still have access to our entire network of
on-call investigators and legal staff who you can consult with even when you don't need to place an order. You can always order information on a onetime basis without a subscription. Non-subscribers rates are
slightly higher and do require immediate payment.
Can subscribers resell the information they obtain or order information
for someone else?
Of course! There are no restrictions to the use of information you request provided that it does
not violate any applicable laws. In fact, InformationForBusiness provides services to a number of information brokers and resellers. If you are interested in becoming an information broker, we have distribution
opportunities available in many areas. We can assist you in starting a new business and developing your market. Call and ask for more details on this exciting chance to get in on the information revolution.
What if I only need information occasionally and don't want to subscribe?
You can make individual orders at any time; just call or e-mail and tell us what information you
need to find and what information you have to work with now. We can advise you on how to find the information you need and give you a quote for the optimum search. It will be conducted and the results returned via
phone or fax, or e-mail. We cannot provide searches to individuals to obtain personal identification information or the whereabouts of other individuals. Due to privacy and security concerns and the
inability to properly identify a customer via the Internet, we have chosen not to offer these services to private individuals.
If you need this type of information for lawful purposes, we can refer you to licensed professionals in your area you can assist your needs. Referrals are always free and we are glad to help you.
What kind of customer service do I really get?
You might think that reaching our customer service is like trying to reach some computer companies'
technical support, but it's actually just the opposite. You pay nothing extra for our toll-free customer service lines and you can always talk to a real person. All of our staff are experienced and know their
products, so feel free to ask any questions you might have. By using InformationForBusiness, you have access to real investigators, paralegals, and database managers whose job it is to help you. Our business depends
on helping you get the information you need, and we only succeed if we can help you succeed.
What about my privacy? How much information you do you have on me?
Privacy is an important concern for almost everyone.
InformationForBusiness screens its new subscribers to ensure that they comply with strict industry standards and are engaged in lawful activities. We know that information is a powerful tool, so we take great care to prevent unauthorized and illegal use of information against private individuals. While we do maintain billions of records on individuals and businesses across the country, most of that information is available to the public through court records, government agencies and private sources which provide that information to the public upon request. Even though much of the information is available to absolutely everyone, we provide personal information only to those with lawful needs for the information. We fully support industry standards developed to protect personal privacy and unnecessary distribution of personally identifying information through the Internet.
